Obits

My father in law, the man I wrote about here, passed away tonight. He went quietly, with a number of his children present.  He’s been in a coma for the last week and we knew the end was near. We were prepared as best we could be. Still, it’s never easy.

One other passing I need to mention.  Stonekettle Station regular, Lauren Uroff lost her long fight with cancer a few weeks ago and passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Her best friend let me know and I intended to mention it here and somehow got caught up in my own world and let it slide.

Life my friends, is far too short.  They shall be missed.

  1. My condolences to your family, Jim.

I went through the same thing 20 years ago, but I didn't make it home in time, so I'm glad your wife had at least that.

  3. My condolences to you and your family. It is criminal that in a country as rich as ours, there are still people who do not have access to "the best health care in the world".

  6. I'm sorry to hear that. Knowing what will happen is not the same as having it actually occur.

  19. Hello Jim,

Just got back from a trip that had been in the making for the last ten years, there were three of us and one who's been fighting cancer for some time now.

It does seem to touch us all doesn't it? My condolences to you and yours, it's never easy, but it does make you appreciate the little time you have in this world that much more.
