ReplyDeleteThe last slice I had was at the seafood market, though. They put the slices on the table where they gut fish. I ate mine with some trepidation, but miraculously didn't get sick...
Watermelon rind makes a great pickle. The problem is finding a watermelon that has a rind thick enough to bother.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what to do with the flesh of the melon though, don't care for it, mostly.
Cantalope flesh also makes a good pickle.
Be doing both later this summer, I've a nephew who loves the stuff, so I make enough for his family each year.
