Must have.
That’s the Ravage Transformer 2GB USB thumb drive.
It’s $45 dollars and won’t ship until September from BigBadToyStore.com and I’m not even a Transformers fan – but still, how cool is this?
Pretty Cool.
Magic 8-Ball Jesus gives this product two thumbs up and a sandal clap, with a saucy swish of the robe to Gizmodo
I'm not a fan of Transformers, either (though I will confess to a full-on nerdness for their predecessors, the Microman/nauts), and I want that.
ReplyDeleteAnd in a lot of ways, this is pure Microman aesthetic: concealing something extraordinary in a more prosaic form.
2g for $45? That cat better fetch the newspaper for that amount.
ReplyDeleteI think we are about to embark on a Flash Drive as Art era and about damn time, too -- too many Flash Drives are me-toos without anything unique. That said, I do have a number of Swiss Army Memory USB Knives... my latest have 8GB of storage and one has a laser pointer and one has a bright white LED flashlight. (grin)

Someone had flash drives that looked like surfboards a couple years ago. They were pretty cool.

That is So. Cool.
ReplyDeleteI *am* from the era of Transformers and so can tell you that the original Ravage turned into a cassette tape that could then be inserted into Soundwave who turned into a cassette player (non-functioning, of course).
I may just have to buy that for my brother for his birthday. :D
I would love to have one of my own, but have no rationalization for the purchase. :/
