Although the landing of the one shuttle was a bit wonky, the "vapor trails" on the ships seemed a bit forced, and the guy throwing something up to the walker had some shadow problems (as did the walker behind the TV crew). But then I'm a total bastard when it comes to such things.
Sorry everybody. It's a sickness. I can't enjoy many CGI movies because some part of my brain is thinking, "Hey, that shadow was out of place, that light source didn't track, and there's no reflection in the water."
(Actually, Steve, there's software that will auto adjust for shake and jitter. No time needed. [Or, apparently, any ability actually holding steady a camera].)
""Hey, that shadow was out of place, that light source didn't track, and there's no reflection in the water.""
And if the renderer is a raytracer what do you say?

Bwahahaha!
ReplyDeleteWell, someone with a good video deck has way too much time on their hands. Although that would be an excellent demo tape.

ReplyDeleteSteve,
ReplyDeleteI mean this in the nicest possible way, but: Sit down and shut the hell up and let us enjoy it!
Where the hell did you get this?!?! It's cool! (Steve B.' nitpicking not withstanding).
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteI found it here, labeled "Imperial Fleet Week in San Fransisco..."
And if you do a google search for Death Star Over San Fransisco you get about 422,000 hits, so it's been making the rounds.
